If you're into your music, why not check out our Open Mic nights running every Wednesday, or pop in and watch one of our live bands once a month? Quizzes run on the last Tuesday of every month, hosted by Ian Strachan. Our Fish Nights are proving immensely popular, with a variety of fresh fish available; booking is most definitely recommended. This is on the first Tuesday of every month. Mexican Night is on the last Thursday of every month. If you are a group and would like to book the restaurant out, you can! No problem. You can also theme the night and we will cook the food to your required genre. Sunday Roasts start from £7.95 and are available 12-6pm every Sunday. The full menu runs on a Sunday all day until 9pm. Originally established as a public house way back in 1755, The Swan With Two Necks is steeped in history. It dates back even further as a coaching inn. There was also an associated blacksmiths next door ready to tend to the patron's horses (in the building which is now the Longdon Women's Institute Hall). The pictures you see here are from the early 1900's and feature the resident apprentice blacksmith of that time, Tom Broadhurst. The name "Swan With Two Necks" refers to the crest of the Worshipful Company of Vintners, a once powerful guild who held land and houses all over England. The expression “with two necks,” really means “two nicks” that is, two special marks on the beak to denote the difference between the Vintners’ swans on the Thames and those of the King. Illiterate sign-painters have simply translated the words “two nicks” into “two necks”

The Bull at Blackmore End is a beautiful grade II listed building which dates back to the fifteenth century. Historic records show that drinks have been served there since 1851, when Thomas Smee became the first man licensed to sell alcoholic drinks from the premises. Since that time the Bull at Blackmore End has passed through many hands, with each developing the pub’s fabulous reputation and ensuring it remains an integral part of the small Essex village of Blackmore End. Having been closed since 2010, a long campaign from the local community saw The Bull at Blackmore End being brought to life once again. It has undergone an extensive renovation programme, and the dramatic transformation of the building both inside and out must be seen to be believed. Every effort has been made to restore the charm and character of this traditional country pub, whilst also ensuring that it is both elegant and inviting to customers old and new. The Bull at Blackmore End is now a truly stunning backdrop for people to dine on quality, traditional pub food, or to simply enjoy a drink with friends.
