Patrick's Restaurant and Bar opened in June 2006 and is located at the centre of the buzzing Ashley Cross area of Lower Parkstone, just 1.5 miles from Poole, 3 miles from Bournemouth and only a couple of miles from the exclusive Sandbanks. Housed in the premises of an old bank. Patrick's look is a blend of contemporary and original. The interior was refurbished in 2011 and the high ceilings and original features have been lovingly restored - the stunning décor make Patrick's the place to see and be seen! The menu style is pure Brasserie with many of the dishes made up from fresh, local ingredients. Head chef, Chris Howard has cooked in award winning restaurants in both the UK and France. He has worked with celebrity chefs Paul Heathcote and Paul Gayler, and brings his inimitable style and perfection to Patrick's. Patrick's is also available for business meetings and private functions. Our event catering service can deal with anything from an intimate dinner for two to a marquee, BBQ, bar and entertainment for over 200 guests. Mr Kyps Live Music Venue has been a cornerstone of live music culture in Bournemouth and Poole since 2002, and has since become a regular fixture on the itinerary of national and international touring bands. Kyps has room for 300 spectators with unrestricted views throughout, and contains facilities and promotional infrastructure that easily belies our modest capacity. Since a major refurb on the Grade II Listed building in 2008, we now have one of the most impressive rooms of its size on the south coast, and our aim is to create a sound and atmosphere that is perfect for the appreciation of live music. The stage at Kyps has seen a wide variety of performers since our inception, from internationally acclaimed players and vocalists, to the most promising up-and-coming independent acts. We pride ourselves on providing a wide spectrum of music at the venue and ensure that each and every show is presented in the best possible way, subject to the unique vibe of each particular artist. We have an in-house promotional team who are united by a dedicated, passionate attitude towards music, and as a result Mr Kyps has an excellent reputation for attracting bands which wouldn?t usually play such intimate venues with Adam Ant, Joe Bonamassa, The Fall, The Levellers, New Model Army, Easy Star All-Stars, Toots & The Maytals, The Buzzcocks, Imelda May and many others. The Music Box is a purpose built music venue. The team behind The Music Box are among the most experienced promoters in the South-West. The staff are all musicians or fanatical music fans. Formerly a Coaching Inn named ‘The Cornish Arms’ and re-named in the 1950’s it supposedly takes its name from the fact that the old bridge into the town was built on bales of wool due to the shifting sands of the tidal river, a more likely version is that the money for the bridge came from the sheep farming community who were responsible for the early prosperity of the town. The ‘Bridge on’ as it is known locally is a lively community pub and live music venue attracting a cross section of ages. There is always a wealth of ‘local knowledge’ available around the horseshoe shaped bar which can make for some fun and interesting conversations! The pub stocks real ales including Doom Bar from Sharps Brewery at Rock and Betty Stoggs from Skinners of Truro with a regularly changing guest pump for the more adventurous ale drinker’s! Children and dogs are most welcome and catered for and through the pub there is a sheltered garden. Sky sports and ESPN channels are available on multi screens which give the pub the benefit of being able to screen two different channels at any time.
