Wheatsheaf - Eastbourne

Church Street, Willingdon Village
Eastbourne, East-Sussex BN20 9HP
United Kingdom

The Wheatsheaf is at the heart of the beautiful flint downland village of Willingdon. the first of a chain of such villages stretching the length of the south downs. Originally two flint cottages, the pub has over the centuries been modified and extended to give us the old English pub, full of charm and character that is enjoyed by so many today. The pub is well known for its excellent food, prepared under the auspices of head chef Mia Hughes-Smith. All produce is locally sourced, even to the extent that our very own village growers group collectively provide superb fresh produce grown to organic principles in their own gardens and allotments. This produce, plus cut flowers, hanging baskets and other gardening services, are bought under a barter scheme using the pubs very own currency - the Wheat. We regularly host live music events, don't miss the open mic night every Wednesday and look out for our Saturday night music and special events. We vary our diary with a variety of entertaining events like Morris Dancing for May Day, Barrel Rolling on August bank holiday, Meat Raffle, Food Taster Days and other festivities. We offer a great menu, with locally sourced produce which is always as fresh as we can get it, that is why our menu is likely to change often keeping the core meals on the menu but with added seasonality. Check online to see what we have on offer. We also have a great range of beer and ales of offer, not to mention an array of spirits and soft drinks. All at great prices. Come and join the community that is...... The Wheatsheaf Inn.
