United Kingdom
The historic Borough Market is just a stone’s throw from where you are now. This is where the barrow boys used to ply their trade, selling possibly much the same kind of produce that is still being sold there today. The Barrow Boy & Banker was originally the first branch of the National Westminster Bank. You can still see many of the original features such as the large windows and double height ceiling. And beneath the bar is a labyrinth of existing bank vaults, which we now use to store and condition all our beer. The best pub in London Bridge for catching live sports action, The Barrowboy and Banker shows all the big games on three 64-inch plasma tvs. Ready for kick off? A great place for lunch or an evening meal, we serve up some of the best pub food in London Bridge. Choose from homemade pies, sharing platters and weekly specials. It’s a pub famed for a fabulous collection of beers – making it the ideal place for a social drink with friends, or just to curl up in a cosy corner with a pint… Our small courtyard garden provides a peaceful setting for alfresco drinks in the summer sun. But it’s also a great spot for our home-grown ingredients to flourish; we grow our own fresh herbs in pots for the kitchen. A little quirky character only adds to the charm of the pub. Antique pews, discarded by a local church, have been restored and used for seating – and we’ve plenty more local history lining the walls in the way of photos and maps. Love live music? Folk Club meets here every 2nd and 4th Tuesday, while Schrodinger Strings - a rock harps and guitar band - often play on a Saturday evening. Love sport too? We show all the big games live on Sky and BT Sports.

606 Club - Chelsea
90 Lots Road
South-West, London SW10 0QD
United Kingdom
The Club currently employs 2 bands a night Tuesday to Wednesday and one Band Thursday to Monday, a total of 10 bands a week (plus occasional Sunday lunches), which makes us the biggest employer of British based Jazz (and related Music) artists in the country. With live jazz seven nights a week and Sundays being our special ‘singers’ night every night can be the best night. Fridays and Saturdays it is essential to book in advance. The policy of the Club can be summarised as the desire to present the best British based Jazz available in the most relaxed surroundings possible with the best food we are able to produce, at an affordable price. Our music policy is based around the rich and varied UK Live music scene and as such we rarely employ visiting artists. It is important to stress however that musicians do not have to be British to work at the Club, in my own band the pianist is Italian and singer Brazilian but they are both UK residents. Due to our licensing restrictions we are only allowed to serve alcohol to non-members with a substantial meal. During the week (Monday-Thursday) we are quite happy for non-members to come down for soft drinks as long as we are able to get them in, but we are so busy at the weekends that you can only gain entrance as a non-member if you are coming in for dinner. The Club has an interesting, imaginative menu created by our head chef Jean Pierre. All dishes are freshly prepared with fish dishes being his speciality. Welsh rack of Lamb and Steak are also served as well as a good selection of vegetarian dishes, a chicken special and pasta dish of the day. We have an extensive international wine and beer menu. We have a Music Charge (which goes straight to the band) In order to obtain membership you need to pick up one of our "Membership Information" sheets when you visit the Club (please note these can only be obtained from the Club premises themselves, they cannot be posted or e-mailed).
