Notting Hill Arts Club - London W11

21 Notting Hill Gate
West, London W11 3JQ
United Kingdom

The Notting Hill Arts Club’s iconic doors first opened in 1997, driven by a passion for music, art and culture. Our mission was to provide a safe space where creative people could immerse themselves in the cutting edge of music and art. Over the next 25 years, those same values have remained crucial to the our identity. Before long the venue was bouncing. Artists started breaking into the music scene after honing their talents on our stage. Lily Allen and Rita Ora gave their first ever performances here. The Libertines formed here. Mark Ronson was a regular, taking the roof off from behind the decks as Adele, Giggs and even Beyonce and Jay Z danced in the crowd. The venue became a rite of passage for musicians. Whoever they were, wherever they were from, if they were worth listening to, they played here: Amy Winehouse, Nas, Ed Sheeran, George Ezra, James Bay, Bruno Mars, The Killers, Joss Stone, Chase & Status, Razorlight, Disclosure, Laura Marling, Bobby Womack, Mumford & Sons, Gilles Peterson, Years & Years, Wolf Alice, KT Tunstall, The Vaccines…

Bedford - Balham

77 Bedford Hill
South-West, London SW12 9HD
United Kingdom

Originally a hotel developed in the 1830's, The Bedford has been the central community hub of Balham for its entire existence. In the late sixties and seventies it was a spit and sawdust live music venue serving as a springboard for early gigs by acts including The Clash and U2. It was also famously used as the courtroom for the unsolved murder case of Charles Bravo, upstairs, in what was then the billiard hall, which is now the Ballroom. Our aim is to provide a first class night out for everybody making full use of our three floors, five bars and five function rooms. We offer dance classes throughout the week, live music four nights a week and club nights every Friday and Saturday. We've hosted the legendary Banana Cabaret comedy club for over 25 years every Friday and Saturday, as well as more recently a New Acts comedy night. The BedfordThere aren't many better places to watch a live game of football or rugby than here. Our huge Globe Theatre creates an incredible atmosphere which has seen considerable celebrations, nervous moments and perhaps a few tears in the last few years. We offer a handpicked tariff of top ales and international lagers to compliment a daily menu of uncomplicated, freshly prepared British pub grub. The place was sensitively tidied up (but not wrecked) in the late 90's, staying true to the original building as it was built, rather than emasculating the place in an attempt to catch up with gastro ventures. We've won several awards over the years including the Evening Standard's Pub of the Year and The Publican's Music Pub of the Year in 2002. We're proud of our local community ties and our record of constantly evolving to give our customers what they want. We have two sister venues, The Distillers in Hammersmith and The Distillers in Smithfield acting as live music venues as well as first class food/drink places with a terrific atmosphere. Welcome to The Bedford.

606 Club - Chelsea

90 Lots Road
South-West, London SW10 0QD
United Kingdom

The Club currently employs 2 bands a night Tuesday to Wednesday and one Band Thursday to Monday, a total of 10 bands a week (plus occasional Sunday lunches), which makes us the biggest employer of British based Jazz (and related Music) artists in the country. With live jazz seven nights a week and Sundays being our special ‘singers’ night every night can be the best night. Fridays and Saturdays it is essential to book in advance. The policy of the Club can be summarised as the desire to present the best British based Jazz available in the most relaxed surroundings possible with the best food we are able to produce, at an affordable price. Our music policy is based around the rich and varied UK Live music scene and as such we rarely employ visiting artists. It is important to stress however that musicians do not have to be British to work at the Club, in my own band the pianist is Italian and singer Brazilian but they are both UK residents. Due to our licensing restrictions we are only allowed to serve alcohol to non-members with a substantial meal. During the week (Monday-Thursday) we are quite happy for non-members to come down for soft drinks as long as we are able to get them in, but we are so busy at the weekends that you can only gain entrance as a non-member if you are coming in for dinner. The Club has an interesting, imaginative menu created by our head chef Jean Pierre. All dishes are freshly prepared with fish dishes being his speciality. Welsh rack of Lamb and Steak are also served as well as a good selection of vegetarian dishes, a chicken special and pasta dish of the day. We have an extensive international wine and beer menu. We have a Music Charge (which goes straight to the band) In order to obtain membership you need to pick up one of our "Membership Information" sheets when you visit the Club (please note these can only be obtained from the Club premises themselves, they cannot be posted or e-mailed).

We have achieved Cask Marque status for our diligence in keeping our ale perfectly conditioned, we have a locally sourced, freshly prepared menu with old favourites and exciting new dishes regularly added, and we have regular events each month that offer something for everyone, for the music fans we have regular blues, rock ‘n’ roll, jazz and ska nights, we also have bookswaps and celebrity author readings for the bookworms among you. Pizza Express Jazz Club - Soho

10 Dean Street
West, London W1D 3RW
United Kingdom

Over the years, many of the world's finest jazz musicians have taken to our stage including Roy Haynes, Kenny Garrett, Martin Taylor, Scott Hamilton and Mose Allison. With live jazz seven nights a week it is also a showcase for new talent: Norah Jones, Jamie Cullum, Diana Krall, Brad Mehldau, Amy Winehouse, Danilo Perez, Stacey Kent, Avishai Cohen, Acoustic Alchemy, Peter Cincotti, Peter White and Rokia Traoré have all appeared and dazzled audiences. The word “Club” in our name relates to the warm atmosphere and comfortable surroundings, not the entrance policy – you do not need to be a member to visit, though we recommend booking in advance. Once seated you’ll be amazed how close you are, musically and physically (none of the tables are far from the stage), to the performers. Add a state-of-the-art sound system and you can not imagine a better venue in which to appreciate live music.

Troubadour - London SW5

263-267 Old Brompton Road
South-West, London SW5 9JA
United Kingdom

The Troubadour is everything you want it to be. Venue, Club, Café, Wine Shop & Bar, and Luxury Apartment. Since 1954, the famous Troubadour Club has been a hotbed of emerging talent and a leading light in excellent musicianship and live music. From its early incarnation as a folk venue, and counter-culture den of creativity, The Troubadour Club has remained at the forefront of interesting, original music and spoken word events with a great reputation for originality and atmosphere. Although now twice its original size, The Troubadour Club remains true to its roots as the private cellar beneath the Café and is one of the most exciting small music venues in town. We promote a varied music programme. Check the programme for what’s on, but rest assured that any night at The Troubadour is characterised by great atmosphere and musicianship of distinction. We look for performers of real talent, who write and perform their own material and can add their names to a roster of troubadours that includes Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, Elvis Costello and more recently Adele, Jamie T, Jack Peñate, The Dead 60s, Paolo Nutini, Morcheeba, Ronnie Wood & Mick Taylor… The list goes on and on. From light snacks to bigger sharing options, we have something for every taste and budget, morning ’till night, seven days a week. Do have a look at the quotes too, they made us smile!
