The unique concept began in late 2008 as an amalgamation between Jamie Lawson, director of Ossett Brewery, Mike Heaton drummer from Yorkshire Indie band Embrace and ex-Virgin Japan MD Mike Inman.

With over 13 years brewing experience and over 35 years knowledge of the music industry, The Hop concept was born - The Hop Wakefield in 2009 - The Hop Leeds in 2010 - and The Hop Sheffield new to 2011.

The second Hop venue to hit Yorkshire is housed in the famous Dark Arches beneath the tracks of Leeds City Railway Station. Spilling across 2 tunnels, the flagship venue sits within Granary Wharf development alongside the stylish Double Tree by Hilton Hotel, Fazenda Bar & Grill, and Wasabi Teppanyaki restaurant on Leeds Waterfront.

Set over 2 levels, serving a host of award winning real ales and cider across 10 hand-pulls, thirst quenching continental lagers, wines, spirits and free live music throughout the week, this 400 capacity venue need be your only destination.

Every Friday and Saturday night, live cover bands take to the stage at The Hop to provide the best in live music from across the decades. From Blues to Rock, Soul to Indie, Funk to Pop, we have got it covered. Bands start at 9pm, FREE ADMISSION.

Every Wednesday is Open Mic Night. Starting at 8pm there is a free bottle of Coors Light for all performers. In-house electro-acoustic guitar available to all musicians.

Every Sunday is The Sunday Gathering. Featuring some of the region’s best established Blues, Folk and Rock acts along with many more new artists, fresh to emerge from the scene. Up to 4 artists performing live from 4pm.
