All our produce is sourced locally and from sustainable sources and prepared on the premises. The Bluebell Inn can be found in the picturesque, North Essex village of Hempstead, on the B1054 between the historic town of Saffron Walden and the village of Steeple Bumpstead, close to the Suffolk border. The Bluebell is a family run business offering a good selection of real ales, fine wines and traditional home cooked food. The Stokes family took over The Bluebell after being closed for 18 months. The premises were completely refurbished and re-opened in May 2003. We offer the ambience and simplicity of a traditional English Country Pub. As well as a spacious bar, we have a separate dining room, cosy snug and garden room, each room with welcoming log fires in the winter. Outside there are 3 patio areas on different levels, leading to spacious gardens with a fenced children’s play area and an ample car park. There is a grassed area to the front of the pub with more picnic tables and further off road parking. We are able to offer facilities for private parties, birthdays, weddings etc. social events or business meetings. Our dining room seats up to 40 people. For a smaller gathering our garden room can seat between 10 and 20. For a larger event there is space for a marquee in the garden. We offer full catering facilities from breakfast, morning coffee and light lunches to afternoon teas, buffets or a full evening dinner. The Grade II-listed Bluebell Inn has a history which lives up to its charming and rustic appearance. Parts having been laid down as early as the 16th Century, the inn is known to have served as the birthplace of the infamous Dick Turpin – notorious highway robber and accomplice of the Gregory Gang. The pub has been known under many guises over its centuries of history, from The Bell, The Rose and Crown, Dick Turpin’s Restaurant and finally the The Bluebell Inn. One Richard Turpin was baptised in the village of Hempstead on the 21 September 1705 and lived in this inn - where the music sessions are held!

This Wetherspoon pub is named after William Jameson, who laid out Fawcett Street and the surrounding roads on behalf of the Fawcett family. Fawcett Street was originally one of Sunderland's finest residential areas, springing up as a result of the opening of the Wear Bridge, in 1796. Building work started in 1814, when the family instructed William Jameson to lay out the estate. By 1844, Fawcett Street was virtually complete, with imposing three- and four-storey houses.

The Courtyard is a modern café bar set within the delightful surroundings of the council run Arts Centre Washington in Fatfield. Situated in the heart of Washington, the Arts Centre is both accessible for locals as well as for people from further a field. Set in open grounds the Arts Centre has ample free parking there are nearby links with regional and local bus services. We operate the bar on a franchise basis from the City of Sunderland council. Through our knowledge and expertise gained from running one of the best real ale houses in the North East, it has been possible to turn the Courtyard from a quiet café bar located within an arts centre, into a thriving locals bar, arguably serving the best quality real ale in Washington. We have been listed in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide for eight consecutive years now and was runner up in the Sunderland and South Tyneside CAMRA pub of the year 2008 The Courtyard operates a continuous cask ale programme sourcing ales from the very best micro brewers across the whole of the UK, and in doing so has introduced customers to a vast range of ales which they were unlikely to have sampled anywhere. Seven cask ales and at least one real cider are available at any one time. We showcase in the region of 15 to 20 different ales every week. The range is also complemented by a good selection of bottled Belgian beers. There is a whole programme of events held in the bar during the week including quiz nights (General Knowledge Quiz - Thursday and Entertainment Quiz - Sunday) and live music featuring the now locally renowned Fatfield Buskers on a Monday evening. Excellent quality home cooked food is served daily from 12.00pm till 2.00pm Monday to Saturday, 4.00pm to 7.00pm Wednesday to Saturday and 12.00pm to 5.00pm Sundays. The Kings Arms, Beach Street, Deptford, Sunderland The Kings Arms is a real gem of a pub with a wood paneled bar. The first mention of the pub on the site is in 1854 and the bar is typical of detail work carried out by local craftsmen of the period both internally and externally. The Kings arms is a multi award winning pub notably local Sunderland & South Tyneside CAMRA pub of the year 2005, 2006 and 2007 and also regional winner in both 2006 and 2007 going forward to the national stage. The bar features nine hand pumps with Timothy Taylor’s Landlord as the resident beer plus seven guest ales and one real cider. The guest ales are sourced from all over the country and many are not seen anywhere else in the area. Such breweries are Newby Wyke from South Lincolnshire, Red Lion from Ossett and Brown Cow from Selby. There is always a strong North-East influence with ales from the likes of Big Lamp, Bull Lane, Durham , High House Farm, Mordue, Jarrow, and Wylam .The pub is located in the old industrial heartland of Deptford where shipbuilding was once the foundation of the town and being only 10 minutes from the city centre is well worth a stroll. The Kings has views over the River Wear to the Stadium of Light which is only a short walk with ample match day parking ideal for a pre or post match pint. There are three large screen TV’s in the Kings should you wish to watch the sporting action in more comfortable surroundings. A beer garden with Marquee is located to the rear of the pub.
