Trooper Inn - Sturminster Newton
Hidden away in the pretty village of Stourton Caundle in the Blackmore Vale, The Trooper Inn is a family-run, genuine and traditional local pub dating from the 17th century.
Visitors will find our pub friendly, welcoming and comfortable - home from home!
Outside, we have seating to the front, for those who like to watch sleepy village life, and a cosy beer garden to the side.
The picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring our carefully nurtured cask ales.
Once a month we have jazz and two evenings a month we have traditional folk music and song.
Although off the beaten track, you can reach us easily by car or train - 11 miles from the A303 or just over 6 miles from Sherborne station.
