The mother of partnered Swing dances is the Lindy Hop, nicknamed the Jitterbug for its bouncy, infectious energy.
Originating on the dance floors of Harlem in the 1920s and 1930s, and immortalised in classic Hollywood films, Lindy Hop is best known for its spectacular aerials and its fluid signature move, the swing-out. This is the core dance taught by Swing Patrol, along with Charleston variations.
Come along and join the fun beginners' classes with Gareth and Sarah at 7pm at The Hideaway on Wednesdays, No experience or partner needed.
