By day The Steamboat Tavern is a great place to eat and relax. During office hours a lot of our clientele come from nearby Felaw Maltings – we offer a friendly and professional atmosphere that’s great for informal business meetings and relaxing downtime after a busy day in the office. At night The Steamboat turns into a vibrant venue for music and the local arts. There’s always something exciting happening here. At The Steamboat Tavern we’re passionate about good quality, freshly cooked food. We source many of our ingredients from some of the amazing local suppliers in Suffolk. From our incredible skin-on, twice cooked chips, to freshly beer battered fish – we cook as much as possible from fresh. We’re as equally passionate about ales as we are food and we have an ever-changing range of real ales and ciders. Being a free-house we enjoy working with many local and national breweries. From hoppy pale ales to dark winter stouts, traditional malty bitters and crisp real ciders to the more unusual smoked and American Rye ales – we aim to stock and sample them all! Our fridges are bursting with a great range of bottled beers, fruity ciders, and thirst quenching soft drinks. We also have a fine selection of whisky and rum, as well as the usual spirits. All music styles are welcome here at The Steamboat from rawkus Punk Rock, through rocking Blues to sublime Jazz.
