Roebuck - Richmond Hill

Roebuck - Richmond Hill
Roebuck is a traditional British pub in Richmond serving great cask ales and freshly cooked traditional pub food.

This pub is regarded as one of the oldest pubs still on its original site in the area of Richmond. Dating back to 1500s, the building was rebuilt in 1741.

In 1952, the pub had a new roof fitted. The tradesmen made an amazing discovery of silvers and ‘treasures’ attributed to the highway men that visited in the 1700s. The Roebuck boasts one of the most beautiful views in London as it overlooks Richmond Hill and millionaire’s row. The building is protected by Act of Parliament for over 100 years.

The Roebuck's has fed and watered rock'n'roll neighbours like Pete Townshend, Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall over the years. However, The Roebuck can rightly be considered a superstar in its own right. Other famous patrons past and present include actor Richard Harris, Princess Alexandra, actor Jon Hannah, Sir David Attenborough, Ricky Gervais and TV and radio presenter Fearne Cotton.

The pub's picturesque location was featured in the film "The Hours", starring Nicole Kidman, and also played a starring role in a recent Sherlock Holmes movie production.
