In March 2012, the Rising Sun Inn at Woodland nr Ashburton, was taken over by Phillip Reynolds, together with his parents, Gary and Sarah. The family are committed to providing a warm and friendly atmosphere in which to enjoy a meal or a drink in this one time Drover’s Stopping Point on the most direct route from Dartmoor to Torbay.

The Inn is nestled in the heart of the beautiful South Devon countryside, just 1 ½ miles from the A38 just outside Ashburton, midway between Exeter and Plymouth.

We are open 7 days a week, offering lunches, evening meals, Traditional Sunday Roast, takeaways and Bed and Breakfast Accommodation in a dog friendly, traditional Devon Country pub.

Our quality homemade food is produced using locally sourced ingredients and is complimented by our Westcountry Real Cask Ales and juices.
