The name originally comes from a nearby foundry, which used to make cannons for the British navy! The Gun was once used as a courthouse in ancient times. Local history tells us that a murder trial took place here and the Murderess was given the death penalty after ridding the community of her bullying, cheating husband! Landscaped gardens and a large children’s play area make the Gun an ideal family local.
