The unique concept began in late 2008 as an amalgamation between Jamie Lawson, director of Ossett Brewery, Mike Heaton drummer from Yorkshire Indie band Embrace and ex-Virgin Japan MD Mike Inman.

With over 13 years brewing experience and over 35 years knowledge of the music industry, The Hop concept was born; The Hop Wakefield in 2009, The Hop Leeds in 2010, The Hop Sheffield in 2011 and The Hop York new to 2013.

The third Hop venue to hit Yorkshire is situated at the gateway to the West One Plaza opposite the famous Devonshire Green. Our flagship venue sits alongside the stylish Revolution Bar, Antibos, The Rib Shack, and Las Iguanas restaurants.

Spilling across 2 levels and serving a host of award winning ales over 10 and-pulls, thirst quenching continental lagers and live music throughout the week, this 400 capacity venue need be your only destination.

Every Saturday night... Live Cover Bands take to the stage at The Hop to provide the best live music from across the decades. From Blues to Classic Rock, Soul to Indie, Funk to Metal we have it covered.

Acts start at 9:30 and play all night. Free admission.

Wednesday Evenings... Come down to The Hop to get involved with our new Virtually Acoustic night! We will be showcasing some very talented and local singer song writers and bands. Up to 4 acts will be playing every Wednesday.

As usual at The Hop we have a free admission policy and acts will be performing from 8pm.
