Records from the 16th century tell us that it was an old inn, once a favourite stopover for travelling performers. It's also on the site of a 13th century mansion - you'll see some of the original windows and doors of Shute Hall in our main bar area. Pop in for a drink and we'll tell you all about Shute Hall's tragic Lady Sarah, whose spirit roams the pub after closing time.
