George and Dragon - Thringstone
Peter, Ann, Steve and Margaret invite you to come along to our recently refurbished establishment and sample our warm hospitality and affordable inviting menus, all within our relaxed homely atmosphere which we have created for you to enjoy.
Our aim is to create a friendly, relaxed, homely environment for all our customers, both those living locally and those just passing through the area who need an affordable, relaxing stop off to replenish themselves before continuing on their journey.
Families especially are welcome and children of all ages can be catered for.
We endeavour to provide a total customer experience, from our attentive but unobtrusive staff, to our relaxing homely surroundings (including real open fires for the colder winters nights), experienced staging of private events and functions, and regular entertainment of a diverse nature to accompany your visit.
Please browse our new website, which is regularly updated with our latest menus and specials, and to highlight the forthcoming entertainment evenings on offer, together with many other events we are planning to host in the near future.
During its many years as a traditional public house, prior to the refurbishment, The George and Dragon was home to a local football club ‘George and Dragon United’. For over 20 years Peter Gough was involved in the running of the club, as both a player and later as a manager. Now, some 20 years later Peter is back at the George and Dragon and once again as Manager – this time of the business.
